Biotechnology Fundamentals- XLR8 STEM

This program is designed to introduce students to biotechnology and health sciences career fields. In-class knowledge is balanced with practical, hands-on training and an internship. Upon completion of this program, the student will gain knowledge and entry-level skills that will prepare them for employment in related fields or further study. 

This curriculum is available to XLR8 STEM Academy students only.

Cybersecurity

This program is designed for the student with networking experience who desires advanced skills in network security. Upon completion of this program, the student may seek a career as a network security or internet security specialist.

This program is designed for the student preparing to transfer to a four-year college or university. It provides the student with the skills needed to pursue study in engineering.

Engineering Fundamentals- XLR8 STEM

This program is designed to introduce students to engineering. It combines content from basic engineering principles, math and chemistry. In-class knowledge is balanced with practical, hands-on training and an internship. After completion, students are qualified as entry-level technicians or may apply earned credits to further programs. 

This program is available to XLR8 STEM Academy students only.

Engineering Technology

This program is designed for the student who desires training in engineering technology. Upon completion of the program, the student may seek a career as an engineering technician or continue their studies at a four-year college or university.

Health Sciences Fundamentals- XLR8 STEM

This program is designed to prepare students for entry into many health science programs of study. In-class knowledge is balanced with practical, hands-on training and an internship. It serves the needs of students interested in further study in allied health professions involved with the delivery of health or related services, and nursing programs. 

This curriculum is available to XLR8 STEM Academy students only.

Information Systems Technology

This program is designed for the student who wants to obtain knowledge in software, web design, programming and practical IT considerations for office and technical staff. Upon completion of this program, the student may seek a career as a software specialist, IT management trainee, website developer, help desk specialist, entry-level programmer or other IT professional position.  

Mechatronics

This program is designed for the student who desires a career in advanced manufacturing. It combines content from mechanics, electronics, robotics and computer-related subjects. In class, knowledge is balanced with practical, hands-on training such as assembly, test and trouble-shooting. Students earn four industry certifications. Upon completion of this program, the student will be qualified for a wide variety of positions that offer great career potential in the local area.

It combines content from basic engineering principles, mechanics, robotics and computer-related subjects. In-class knowledge is balanced with practical, hands-on training and an internship. Upon completion of this program, the student will be qualified as an entry-level technician or may apply earned credits to further programs.

Networking and Electronic Technology

This program is designed for the student who desires a career in technology, computer networking or advanced manufacturing. It combines content from electronics, computer networking and programming. In-class knowledge is balanced with practical, hands-on training. Upon completion of this program, the student will be qualified as a technician with great career potential in the local area.

Nuclear Technology

This program is designed to prepare students for employment in the nuclear energy service industry. It provides in-class and practical hands-on training in basic maintenance, electricity, engineering, programming, and related skills.  Students completing this program will be prepared for employment as an entry-level technician in the nuclear energy field.

Science

An Associate's Degree of Arts and Sciences in Science prepares the student to transfer to a four-year college or university to major in the sciences. It provides the student with the coursework and skills needed to pursue further study in biology, chemistry, physics, geology, biomedical sciences, environmental science, neuroscience and more.
