CVCC group with NC3 badge

Central Virginia Community College (CVCC) is proud to announce that it has been officially recognized as a National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) Leadership School. This esteemed recognition places CVCC among the nation’s leading educational institutions committed to advancing Career and Technical Education (CTE) and workforce development.

As an NC3 Leadership School, CVCC will play a pivotal role in driving the mission of NC3 and its industry-recognized certification programs. This program will allow CVCC to embed industry recognized credentials in academic programs and offer standalone programs for upskilling and reskilling existing workers. Credentials will be offered in areas such as advanced manufacturing, HVAC, electrical and welding.

“Becoming an NC3 Leadership School is a significant milestone for CVCC,” said Dr. Jason Ferguson, associate vice president of workforce development at CVCC. “This recognition not only highlights our commitment to excellence in CTE but also positions us to partner with global industry leaders and expand our credential programs, starting with Industry 4.0 in Advanced Manufacturing.  This program will allow students to earn credentials while completing certificate and degree programs as well as take individual classes in areas such a PLC, Robotics, and other areas of advanced manufacturing to meet the evolving needs of today’s workforce.”

NC3 Leadership Schools are recognized for their ability to shape, elevate, and model top-tier CTE programs, serving as National Centers of Excellence. Through this partnership, CVCC will have access to cutting-edge resources and technologies, ensuring that students receive education and training that aligns with the latest industry standards.

CVCC’s journey as an NC3 Leadership School will begin with the expansion of its credential programs, focusing on Industry 4.0 and Advanced Manufacturing. This initiative will equip students with the skills and certifications necessary to thrive in the rapidly advancing manufacturing sector.
