FAQs

Go to the myCVCC website

Log in with your credentials and click on the link to Gmail

When Gmail is open, click on the gear symbol in the upper left corner and choose “Settings”

Click the link that says “Forwarding and POP/IMAP”

Click the “Add a forwarding address” button

Enter email address then click “Next” and then “Proceed”, then “OK”

Check your email account you entered as the forwarding address and you will have an email from the VCCS asking for confirmation. Read the email and click the link within the email to confirm the request.

Go back to the “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” section of “Settings”

Click the button beside “Forward a copy of incoming mail to” and take note of the settings in the two drop down menus, then at the bottom of the page click the button to “Save Changes” and you’re done.

While the site is open that is not functioning properly (if you closed the site, please navigate back to it), at the top left of Internet Explorer click on “Tools”. If you do not see this menu, press “ALT” on your keyboard one time and it will appear.

Then, click on “Compatibility View Settings”

Click “Add”. The “Add this website” portion will be filled in for you. It will only have part of the address, so don’t be concerned if it looks much shorter than you expect. An example of this is:

https://cvcc.my.vccs.edu/personInfo

being changed to

vccs.edu

This is normal.

After the site has been added (it will appear in the large middle box), click “Close”. The site will reload.

Try to continue what you were doing before and see if this has resolved the problem. This frequently fixes many issues with websites behaving oddly, and doesn’t require special privileges or access.

Go to the myCVCC website

Log in with your credentials and click on the link to Gmail

Once Gmail is open, in the upper left corner click on the gear symbol and choose “Mail settings”

Click the link that says “Forwarding and POP/IMAP”

There are two choices, either “POP Download” for setting up your email on an email client like Outlook, or “IMAP Access” for setting up your email in Outlook or most mobile devices.

Under each section, you can enable which one suits your needs, for most smartphones you will need to “Enable IMAP”, afterwards click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page, then return to the “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” page in “Settings”

Click on the corresponding “Configuration instructions” link to find out how to setup your email on your smartphone.

The “Configuration instructions” will take you to a page where you will follow the steps provided for your device or email client based off which protocol you need to use. Once again, most devices will be IMAP.

All currently enrolled students at CVCC are eligible to download Microsoft Office365.

Students can access Office 365 by going to: http://office.vccs.edu

The login will be your full myCVCC email address (e.g. student123@email.vccs.edu) and your password is your myCVCC password.

From there, you can download Office 365 apps.
